The odonate highlight of our recent trip to Singapore was finding Risiophlebia dohrni at Upper Seletar, a superb little swamp forest species. It was so dark in habitat I was using my spotlight when I found it!
The only new bird for me during a month in Singapore and Malaysia was this splendid red-legged crake. If you are ever in Singapore for a layover head to the Botanical Gardens and work the Heliconia Walk (easy of Symphony Lake) in the late afternoon and get ready for stellar views.
