clocking off the nightshift

 Pauraque posing

Just finished a night session in Belize. Plenty of pauraque on the roads, plus black-and-white owl and striped owl (both new species for me!). More later.

This black-and-white owl was seriously obliging. Sadly the striped owls encountered later in the session were flightier.

  1. Congrats on the two new species. I managed to add a new one albeit much less exciting, a Palm Warbler this past weekend in San Francisco.

  2. Very nice on the two lifers! I added 12 lifers when I was in the Bahamas 10 days ago, but nothing as cool as the owl!

  3. PS - I have also done some birding in Sweden (in Skane) - it is very nice!
